- What does design of a putting green involve?
When
a golf course architect designs a natural grass putting green at a golf course there
are several factors that have to be considered in the design process that will impact the quality and performance of the finished green.
- Golf Greens By Design uses the same criteria in our design process in the design and construction of Mirage Tour Putt Greens.
- Factors considered are the slope of the existing grade, water drainage of the green,
condition and type of soils beneath the proposed green and surrounding
landscape aesthetics. These are very important design criteria that are implementedd when designing and constructing your green.
- Over
all or budgeted cost related to wants and needs of the owner(s) is
also used when designing your green. We always attemp to stay within
your budget in the design process.
- Our designs involve two types of designs, Standard Shapes/Sizes and
Custom Shapes.
- Standard Shapes/Sizes are
shapes that can be fitted one one rectangular cut of turf. Putting
turf comes in rolls 15 feet wide x any length.
-
Custom Shapesare
shapes that exceed a 15 feet in width making it necessary to use one or more rectangular cuts of turf
seamed together to create the width required in the design.
